• Not a Big Post, Just a Big Turtle

  I’ve been writing other things, so today’s blog is short and mostly meaningless, but, hey, I’m trying to write a post every single day for 30 days so I have to write something. This is my niece Izzy Lou modeling with a large stuffed turtle.

   She DOES look like Bailey, except Bailey doesn’t have any turtle frineds that big. Come to think of it, she doesn’t have any turtle friends at all. She has a couple of Igles (German for “hedgehog”),as well as a cow, a squirrel and duck she inherited from Glad. Not to mention any sock left unguarded.
   How old is Izzy?? We’re beginning to wonder if there’s not a biological link between them. There were other puppies in the litter tht were rescued. You and I could be related!
   Lemme see, if you’re Izzy’s aunt, and she and Bailey ARE closely related, that would make us,… 3rd or 4th cousins upmteeth removed!!
   As for your other German Word of the Day, since I seem to have fallen off, the word is “weib.” Not “weiß”, which means “white.”
   Weib (vibe) is the REAL German word for female dog, which sounds very little like “Bitte Schön”, even when said quickly.
   There- I should be caught up now! Bitchin’!!!

   The fact that Izzy was purchased from a pet store means that she was probably the product of a puppy mill, and with so few male dogs in puppy mills, it would not surprise me one bit if Izzy is related to your Bailey. At the time she was purchased, my friend’s sister who purchased Izzy didn’t know that pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills. In fact, I don’t think most people didn’t know what a puppy mill was until Oprah did her huge story on it with Lisa Ling.

   No, wrong dog. Izzie didn’t come from a pet store. The IT director at my sister’s hospital got Izzie and her sister Allie from a miniature schnauzer breeder. He gave her to my sister when he and his wife decided they couldn’t take care of her.

   Bailry is reportedly the product of a male Miniature Schnauzer and a female Toy Poodle. I don’t see very much poodle in her, though.
