Bear McCreary, that is, award winning composer of the Battlestar Galactica Soundtracks. Gotta love a famous person who answers his fan mail. I have to say I was surprised to learn he’s a young attractive guy, not a 50+ year old man like I figured you’d have to be in order to get a gig like BSG.
BTW, ‘Bear’ is his real given name. (I asked him…he swears its his real name.)
Most of the music I listen to are soundtracks to movies. I actually cannot listen to music with words when I work because I end up typing the lyrics. Bear’s is easily one of my favorites, followed by all of the Myst and Riven soundtracks, and the soundtrack to The Firm.
Bear’s music brings me joy. Sometimes, when I am in a really terrible company meeting, I play “The Dinner Party” track in my head. I see myself in a classy restaurant wearing something fabulous. Johnny Depp and Lance Armstrong are trying desperately to get my attention, but I am ignoring them both. I am dining on a gourmet meal of grill cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, pickles and a wonderful red Merlot. AAaaaah.
Ooh. I just found Bear’s got some samples of videos. Too bad I had to break his site to link to it. I guess Bear is a composer, not a web geek like I am. I’ll forgive him this *once* for using frames that I cannot link to.
